GoBrise

Comparison

GoBrise vs Intercom

Intercom is an established customer communications platform with a broad suite. GoBrise focuses on grounded AI support, human handoff, a knowledge base and white-label branding. This page compares what we can state accurately, so you can decide which fits your team.

We only state things about Intercom that we can verify, and their plans and packaging change. Anything we cannot confirm is marked “Check their site” rather than guessed. Always confirm current details on intercom.com before deciding.

What makes GoBrise different

Three things about how we are built and priced. None of this says Intercom is worse — it is a broader product aimed at a different buying decision.

Human live chat is free, forever

Our Free plan includes 25 AI replies / month, unlimited human live chat and a non-removable “Powered by GoBrise” badge. You can run your entire human support operation on GoBrise at $0 and upgrade for more AI when the repetitive volume justifies it, instead of paying per seat before you know the value.

We publish our accuracy numbers

Our /trust page shows a live readiness audit from a real production customer: how much was ready to go live, how many questions were answered well and how many were correctly passed to a human. The numbers come straight from the database, not from a slide.

See the benchmark

Grounded answers, deliberate escalation

The assistant may only answer from your approved content. When retrieval is weak and the model is uncertain, when it confidently cannot answer from your material, or when the visitor asks for a person, the conversation goes to a human rather than producing a confident dead end.

How handoff works

Which one fits your team

If you need a broad customer communications suite spanning marketing messaging, product tours and support under one roof, Intercom covers considerably more surface area than we do. If what you need is accurate AI answers grounded in your own content, immediate human handoff and pricing that does not charge per seat before AI is earning its keep, that is what GoBrise is built for.

What switching from Intercom to GoBrise involves

A move is best treated as a controlled support cutover, not a one-click import. GoBrise is a more focused product, so first decide which current workflows still belong in your support stack and which Intercom capabilities need another home.

  1. Step 1

Inventory the workflows you actually use

List the Intercom features that matter today: Messenger entry points, inbox routing, Fin sources, macros, reports, product tours, outbound messages, tickets and integrations. Map only overlapping support functions to GoBrise. Product tours, marketing campaigns or specialist workflows should not be assumed to transfer because GoBrise does not position itself as a replacement for Intercom's entire suite.

  2. Step 2

    Prepare the approved knowledge set

Export or copy the help material you have the right to reuse, then remove stale and duplicate instructions. GoBrise can ingest documents, manual entries and website content; Growth and higher plans add website crawling and automatic updates. There is no promise here of an automated Intercom-to-GoBrise knowledge migration, so confirm source formats and test a representative subset before planning the cutover date.

  3. Step 3

Configure the widget and human queue

Install the GoBrise JavaScript snippet in a test environment, set the visual branding and invite the agents who will receive escalations. Recreate the essential routing outcome rather than copying every historical rule. Verify that explicit requests for a person, unsupported questions and account-specific issues reach the correct team, and that takeover prevents further AI replies in the thread.

  4. Step 4

Test with real questions before changing traffic

Build a test set from recent conversations: straightforward answers, ambiguous requests, angry customers, billing cases and questions the AI should refuse. Review both answer quality and handoff quality. Keep Intercom available during a limited parallel period if your operational constraints allow it, but avoid running two visible widgets on the same page where visitors could choose the wrong channel.

  5. Step 5

    Plan records and reporting separately

Decide which conversation history must remain accessible for legal, service or analysis reasons. GoBrise lists JSON and CSV export on Business and Enterprise, but that does not mean every Intercom record can be imported with its original structure. Retain required archives in an appropriate system and confirm migration scope with both providers before cancelling access to the source account.

  6. Step 6

Cut over, monitor, then remove the old widget

Switch the website snippet only after agents can receive and answer test escalations. Watch early conversations for missing knowledge, unexpected routing and mobile layout issues. Add missing content, retest it and expand traffic gradually. Once the new workflow is stable and required records are retained, remove the old script to avoid duplicate launchers and unnecessary page code.

GoBrise vs Intercom: frequently asked questions

Is GoBrise a complete replacement for Intercom?

Not for every team. Intercom is a broad customer communications suite that includes support plus capabilities such as outbound messaging, product tours and a large app ecosystem. GoBrise is deliberately narrower: grounded AI support, a knowledge base, a website widget, human handoff and a shared inbox. It can replace the focused support workflow for some teams, but buyers using the wider Intercom suite should map those functions before switching.

Which is cheaper: GoBrise or Intercom?

It depends on team size, AI usage and the products selected. GoBrise publishes a $0 plan with 25 AI replies / month and unlimited human live chat and paid AI conversation allowances at $29, $79 and $249 per month, plus top-ups. Intercom publishes seat-priced helpdesk plans and outcome-based Fin charges, with add-ons for some capabilities. Calculate your actual seats, likely AI volume and required features using both providers' current pricing pages; headline entry prices are not a complete comparison.

Does GoBrise have a free plan?

Yes. GoBrise's Free plan includes 25 AI replies / month, unlimited human live chat and a non-removable “Powered by GoBrise” badge. Starter, Growth and Business have seven-day trials and include 500, 2,000 and 7,500 AI conversations per month respectively. Intercom currently documents a time-limited trial rather than a permanent standard free plan, but its packaging can change, so verify that directly on Intercom's site.

How do the AI charging models differ?

Free includes 25 AI replies / month. On paid plans, GoBrise counts an AI conversation as one complete session, even when it contains several messages; conversations handled only by people do not consume AI credits. Intercom describes Fin billing in terms of successful outcomes, with separate published treatment for outcomes such as resolutions and lead qualification. Those units are not directly equivalent. Model your own monthly conversation mix rather than converting one headline allowance into the other.

Can both platforms hand an AI conversation to a person?

Yes. GoBrise escalates on an explicit human request, a confident inability to answer, or weak supporting knowledge combined with model uncertainty. The agent sees the existing thread, and once a human replies or takes over, GoBrise AI stays silent. Intercom also supports Fin-to-human escalation, with routing and workflow options that depend on its current configuration and plan. Confirm the exact Intercom setup on its site.

Can I import my Intercom knowledge base into GoBrise?

GoBrise accepts knowledge through documents, manual entries and website content, so material you own may be reusable in those forms. This page does not promise a one-click Intercom importer or preservation of Intercom-specific article structure, permissions and metadata. Review export rights and formats, clean the source content, test a subset, and confirm any larger migration with the GoBrise team before committing to a deadline.

Does GoBrise offer all of Intercom's integrations?

No claim of equivalent integration breadth is made. Intercom maintains a broad marketplace and publishes integrations across many business tools. GoBrise integrations and API access are coming soon. If a CRM, commerce platform or internal data source is essential, make it a pass-or-fail requirement in your trial.

Which product is better for a small support team?

A small team that mainly needs website chat, answers grounded in its own content and clear human takeover may prefer GoBrise's focused scope and non-seat-based AI allowances. A small team that also needs outbound campaigns, product tours, a mature marketplace or other broad customer-engagement tools may value Intercom's larger suite. The better choice is the smallest system that covers the workflows you genuinely operate, not the longest feature list.

How should we compare answer quality fairly?

Give both assistants the same approved material and the same test set drawn from real customer questions. Score factual correctness, completeness, use of current policy, behaviour on follow-up questions and whether unsupported cases hand off safely. Include difficult examples, not only obvious FAQ matches. GoBrise publishes a live readiness benchmark on its Trust page, but your own content and question mix remain the most relevant test for your deployment.

Can we run GoBrise alongside Intercom during evaluation?

You can evaluate GoBrise without immediately cancelling another service, but avoid presenting two competing chat launchers to the same visitors. Use a test environment, selected pages or a controlled traffic segment if your site setup supports it. Keep reporting periods and test questions consistent. Before final cutover, confirm agent access, escalation alerts, retained history, required integrations and removal of the previous widget script.
